Other than humans the species of Askellion are intentionally designed to be individual. The most common classification system of which is used below. While other classification systems exist, they are not as commonly used because as much as there are much more extensive and as such fewer people are familiar with the full system involved.
Blessed: Species of Askellion which are capable of using magic, consists almost exclusively of intelligent/self-aware species.
Accursed: Species of Askellion which cannot use magic, indeed many accursed species have effects which are actually detrimental to magic itself. The vast majority of Accursed species are unintelligent and desire magic on an almost instinctual level. This resulting in a natural conflict between the accursed and blessed.
Unclassified: Humans are technically an unclassified species however are considered blessed species on a technicality. Species when first discovered end up in the unclassified species until further information can be gathered. With the exception of humanity and one other species, species which remain unclassified for any significant length of time are due to small numbers.
