All warped alloy that exists has already been forged into weapons. It is likely that warped alloy is not natural but made. Who and how however has been lost to time. Warped alloy is a deep black metallic substance which has a red sheen in light but a purple sheen in darkness. Warped alloy weapons are death sentences, supposedly the weapons of the reapers themselves. Strike at an enemy with a warped alloy weapon and it doesn’t matter what it is, it doesn’t even matter if the attack connects, the target dies. No armour can protect against it. No species immune. Warped alloy is so potent that it can slay an abomination regardless of its current stage. Unfortunately such weapons are too potent. As much as warped alloy weapons are death sentences to those apposed to the wielder they are death sentences to everything near the wielder, even the wielder themselves. Enemies die, allies die, the wielder dies, the ground dies, the air dies. Everything dies. These weapons do, thankfully, come with a sheath which somehow inhibits this deathly aura but this sheath appears to be an aged form of warped alloy. Less potentent than warped alloy itself but still deadly with prolonged exposure. The average species can own a warped alloy weapon for a year across their entire lifespan before their life is forfeit. Moreover the act of unsheathing such a weapon being deadly more often than not. To this day few are insane enough to thing of using a warped alloy weapon, and none stupid enough to try re-forging them.
Normal use:
The most common series of warped alloy weapons to see actual combat are variations of warped alloy blades. Mainly due to the fact that due to the sheath shape it is possible to unsheathe the blade and swing it before falling to the ground dead. There was, at one point in time, a group of practitioners which attempted to use these blades. 10 years of training to not instantly die upon unsheathing the blade. Unfortunately even this practice became rare as users of this style could only manage to unsheathe such blades 9 times without dying. Which in conjunction to the 1 year time limit made them incredibly short lived. Such practioners have since moved on to hover scree alloyed weapons. Other warped alloy weapon types exist but rarely see any use.
Relic examples:
The only “relic” warped alloy weapons are the warped alloy arrows and warped alloy crossbow bolts. Made in such a way that the act of firing them unsheathes them. Due to the nature of being ranged weapons such warped alloy weapons don’t typically kill their users but due to the nature of the weapon flying off and the sheath remaining behind such weapons are also impossible to recover and therefore single use. As such warped alloy “relics” are understandably rare.
